I think the best charities to donate to will be local ones. Here's a few: Charlotte Arts and Science Council, Charlotte Salvation Army, Junior League of Charlotte, and Relay for Life.

Charlotte Arts and Science Council is good but I think if we could find a specific event or something to donate to within the organization, people would be more willing to donate to that rather than just the organization.

How about the Charlotte Art League? That is one of the specific organizations listed under the Arts & Science Council and they still have a variety of services offered. They even have a community outreach program!
